EVENT:         Secondary Soccer Carnival

DATE:               Wednesday, 13th September, 2017
VENUE:             Maida Vale Reserve (entry off Ridge Hill Rd)
COMPETITORS:  Year 7/8 Boys, Year 9/10 Boys, Yr 7-10 Girls

(You are welcome to bring more than one team in any of the above categories.)

 

TIMES: (Finishing time may be earlier depending on the fixtures, it will not be later)                                                                                                                 

  • 9.40am –  Teacher meeting

  • 9.50am –  Welcome

  • 10.00am – Competition Begins

  • 1.45pm –  Presentations

  • 2.00pm – Close and Dismiss

 

EQUIPMENT:

  • 1x set of goal nets and corner posts (can use agility poles or cones to mark corner)

  • Game ball – size 5

  • 1x set of bibs (in case of uniform clashes)

  • Goal keeper jersey – must be different to rest of team.

 

INSTRUCTIONS:

  • Each team must be accompanied by an adult supervisor

  • Each team to supply a field referee

  • GAMES:

    • They will be centrally timed!!

    • 2 x 15 minute halves, 5 minute half time, 5 mins between games (game times may change, subject to fixturing)

  • Normal, current soccer rules will apply, including substitutions.

  • Mercy Rule will be enforced. If a team is winning by more than 5 goals they must make changes that allow a fair game for the opposition, for the remainder of the playing time. (a “5 goal” difference is the maximum difference that will be recorded and counted towards placings.)

  • SCORING: please submit score sheets to Karen Klomp at the end of each game. (win = 3 points, draw = 2 points, loss = 1point)

  • The spirit of the game is important: players and coaches should shake hands before and after the match.

 

FIXTURES:

  • To be provided 2 days before carnival date by WACSSA.

COST:

  • $150 per school

ELEGIBILITY:

  • Open to all schools that are members of CSA (Christian Schools Australia), CEN (Christian Educaion National) or SCEA (Swan Christian Education Association)
